Local craft brewery Growler just made it easier for every South African to raise a toast to the battle against rhino poaching and make a real difference with each draught.

Owners Scott Hamilton and Tristan Dias grew up traveling through SA’s National Parks, which ignited a passion for the country’s natural resources and heritage and today the team is an eager supporter of anti-poaching initiatives, particularly those addressing Rhino poaching.

Hamilton and the Growler team recently partnerned with the Rhino Action Group Effort (RAGE) by proudly pledging R1 from every "Growler Red Ale" or "Boom Shaka Lager" purchase to RAGE.

RAGE spokesman Any Rice says: "We are hugely grateful to Growler for their support of RAGE’s activities and for helping to create greater awareness of the ongoing challenge we face.

"The funds will help to sustain critical RAGE initiatives, so when you’re thinking about a long cool drink after that hot game drive, think about our rhinos and choose a Growler brew."

Growler sales are currently focused in the Nelspruit, Mpumalanga region and have an extensive footprint in the Kruger National Park and other private reserves such as Sabi Sands reserve. Plans are afoot for a national reach by April 2016.

All contributions to RAGE, a Non Profit Company, are allocated to anti-poaching initiatives prioritised by a committee of volunteer experts comprising ecologists, game reserve owners, members of government, media professionals and economists, whilst KPMG ensures strict accounting measures.
